Responsibilities
Here are the responsibilities for this System Administrator (Infra) at this Information Technology leader in Montreal;

Infrastructure Administration & Maintenance: Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory (AD DS), DNS/DHCP, Group Policies (GPO), DFS, and Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

Virtualization & Storage Operations: Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure), provision virtual machines, and administer enterprise SAN/NAS storage allocations.

Data Center & Backup Management: Oversee data center health, manage VEEAM enterprise backup operations, validate restore procedures, and support disaster recovery plans.

Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud resources while leveraging PowerShell/Bash scripting for automation.

Vendor & Project Coordination: Work with third-party vendors for hardware/software service renewals, procurement, and infrastructure upgrade implementations.


IT Operations & Incident Response: Lead root-cause analysis for infrastructure incidents, execute OS-level Linux server administration, and perform system patching following ITIL practices.


Qualifications
Here are the qualifications required for this System Administrator (Infra) at this Information Technology leader in Montreal;


Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise IT environment.

Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DFS, RDS, and networking concepts (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).

Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure) and enterprise storage (SAN/NAS).

Proficiency with enterprise backup and recovery tools (VEEAM or equivalent) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).

Intermediate experience administering Linux system environments.

Must be bilingual (English and French) to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs for server room/data center installations, plus a valid driver's license.

Assets: System administration certifications (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Azure) or ITIL certification.
