Job Description

We are currently seeking a Stretch Blow Molding Specialist to join our Advanced Solutioning team. You will be working alongside our process, application, melt delivery and technology teams to keep Husky at forefront of smart & iconic packaging, application development and sustainability solutions. The role will also be responsible for application research, including the understanding of early-stage technologies, and for translating customer needs into valuable and effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and quantify relationships between application, injection molding process, PET / rPET material properties, reheating process, stretch blow molding process and package performance
  • Execute and support experimental projects aimed at:
  • evaluating and improving processing methods, technologies, and control strategies that enhance overall equipment effectiveness, performance, and quality across the pellet-to-bottle value chain
  • expanding Husky's understanding of stretch blow molding processing, materials and package performance
  • Identify and adapt evolutions in key stretch blow molding technologies, applications and rigid packaging trends to maintain the competitive advantage of Husky products
  • Apply a structured, data-driven approach using engineering principles, experimentation and numerical analysis to better understand process behavior and support technical decision making

Collaborate with business development teams and customers to understand technical challenges and develop practical application and processing solutions

Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in Advantage+Elite, Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions

Independently plan and execute technical investigations, development activities and experimental trials, documenting findings and recommendations

Travel to customers for line trials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
  • 5-10+ years of experience in related industries
  • An in-depth understanding of stretch blow molding concepts, system operation, package design, processing and an advanced knowledge of rheology and polymer properties relevant to processing.
  • Support product validation and launch activities as required and ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions utilizing Husky`s technology suite
  • Ability to apply systematic engineering methodologies and data analysis techniques to identify meaningful technical solutions for Husky's product offering
  • Background in application development, process optimization or technology evaluation within plastics processing or packaging industries
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Work well in a cross-functional team
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and deliver results with minimal supervision
