About the Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an international leader in the frozen food industry with operations across North America and Europe. Our client has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and long-term customer partnerships and is experiencing continued growth, creating exciting leadership opportunities across the business.

This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for the Food Service and Industrial business across the Americas. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll lead commercial strategy, drive profitable revenue growth, develop high-performing sales teams, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the organization. The position offers significant executive exposure and a defined succession path that could lead to a Managing Director role for the Americas.

The Role

You'll lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs), while remaining actively involved in strategic business development, key account management, supplier negotiations, and commercial planning. This role combines leadership with a hands‑on approach, requiring someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating across multiple departments to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, Quality (FSQA), Operations, and European production teams, you'll help shape commercial strategy, support product development initiatives, and ensure profitable, sustainable growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for the Food Service and Industrial segments across North America.
  • Drive revenue, profitability, and market share growth.
  • Develop pricing strategies, forecasting, annual business plans, and commercial KPIs.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing sales culture focused on accountability and customer success.
  • Set performance objectives and support employee development.

Business Development & Customer Management

  • Maintain relationships with strategic customers while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Lead contract negotiations and major commercial agreements.
  • Support key customer initiatives, RFPs, and strategic projects.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, Quality (FSQA), and European production teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives to ensure seamless execution and exceptional customer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 10+ years of sales and business development experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and developing sales teams.
  • Strong background within the food industry, preferably frozen foods (frozen fruits, vegetables, French fries, or similar products).
  • Experience selling into the Foodservice channel is highly preferred; Industrial and Retail experience is also valuable.
  • Proven success selling into the U.S. market and managing national or strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, negotiations, forecasting, profitability, and strategic planning.
  • Experience collaborating across Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Logistics, and Customer Service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Native English speaker or fully bilingual in English (French and/or Spanish are considered assets).

Travel Requirements

  • Monthly travel throughout North America, primarily to the United States.
  • Occasional international travel for customer visits, trade shows, and meetings with global teams.

Principales responsabilités

Leadership commercial et stratégie

  • Développer et mettre en œuvre les stratégies de vente pour les secteurs Service alimentaire et Industriel à travers l'Amérique du Nord.
  • Stimuler la croissance des revenus, de la rentabilité et des parts de marché.
  • Élaborer les stratégies de tarification, les prévisions de ventes, les plans d'affaires annuels et les indicateurs de performance (KPI).
  • Analyser les tendances du marché, les besoins des clients et les activités de la concurrence afin d'identifier de nouvelles occasions de croissance.

Leadership et développement d'équipe

  • Encadrer, mobiliser et développer une équipe de Business Development Managers et de Key Account Managers.
  • Favoriser une culture de collaboration, de performance et de responsabilisation.
  • Définir les objectifs de performance et soutenir le développement professionnel des membres de l'équipe.

Développement des affaires et gestion des comptes

  • Développer et maintenir des relations solides avec les clients stratégiques tout en identifiant de nouvelles occasions d'affaires.
  • Mener les négociations contractuelles et les principales ententes commerciales.
  • Participer aux appels d'offres, aux projets stratégiques et aux initiatives majeures auprès des clients.
  • Représenter l'entreprise lors de rencontres clients, salons commerciaux et événements de l'industrie.

Collaboration interfonctionnelle

  • Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes de la chaîne d'approvisionnement, des achats, de la logistique, du service à la clientèle, des finances, de l'assurance qualité (FSQA) ainsi qu'avec les équipes de production européennes.
  • Coordonner les initiatives interfonctionnelles afin d'assurer une excellente exécution des projets et une expérience client de premier ordre.

Qualifications requises

  • Environ 10 ans ou plus d'expérience en ventes et en développement des affaires.
  • Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience en gestion et développement d'équipes de vente.
  • Solide expérience dans l'industrie alimentaire, idéalement dans les produits surgelés (fruits, légumes, pommes de terre ou produits similaires).
  • Expérience auprès du secteur service alimentaire (Foodservice) fortement privilégiée; une expérience dans les secteurs industriel ou de détail constitue également un atout.
  • Expérience démontrée dans la vente auprès du marché américain et la gestion de comptes nationaux ou stratégiques.
  • Excellentes compétences commerciales, notamment en tarification, négociation, prévisions de ventes, rentabilité et planification stratégique.
  • Expérience de collaboration avec les équipes de la chaîne d'approvisionnement, des achats, des opérations, de la logistique et du service à la clientèle.
  • Baccalauréat en administration, marketing ou dans un domaine connexe (un atout).
  • L'anglais est essentiel; le français et/ou l'espagnol constitue des atouts.

Exigences relatives aux déplacements

  • Déplacements mensuels à travers l'Amérique du Nord, principalement aux États-Unis.
  • Déplacements occasionnels à l'international pour des visites clients, des salons commerciaux et des rencontres avec les équipes mondiales.
