The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Coordinator plans and coordinates the design, development, implementation, and continuous administration and support of the Department of Corrections’ (DOC) EHR system. Primary responsibilities include: act as subject matter expert of the Sapphire solution; participate in Sapphire and third‑party software upgrades, solution patching and Sapphire functional software development lifecycle partnership; and collaborate with DOC end users to design, build, test, train, implement and evaluate Sapphire software to resolve incidents or fulfill requests for business needs. Responsibilities include similar involvement with the Dentrix electronic health record (dental), Dexis (dental digital imaging), and license coordination for Nuance’s Dragon Medical One. This position is subject to the State of MN's telework policy requiring employees living within 50 miles of DOC's Central Office location in St. Paul to work on‑site 50% of the time. Completion of a telework agreement is required. Teleworking employees are required to live in Minnesota or a bordering state in a county along the Minnesota state line. Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience related to electronic health record system management, including strategic planning, budgeting, analysis, and/or research. A Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. Applicants meeting the experience requirements listed above will be further assessed on the following: Knowledge of principles and practices of business processes and rules and regulations relating to electronic health record systems. Working knowledge of current technology, computer programs and databases sufficient to access and/or enter information, develop comprehensive reports and provide training to staff. Knowledge of process for analyzing and evaluating information gathered in order to determine compliance of HIPPA, health records and electronic health record system. Reporting skills sufficient to present and summarize information; document procedures; track assignments, projects and data; and provide reports. Human relation skills sufficient to coordinate consensus building and guide the expectations of customers, stakeholders and project staff‑led discussion groups. Ability to coordinate activities and resources to plan, organize, and manage large projects simultaneously. Ability to train and instruct staff in computer applications and software, office procedures and practices. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a closely related field. Experience using Sapphire EHR. Knowledge of the Data Privacy Act regarding dissemination of public, private, and confidential information. Physical Requirements

Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation. Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records. New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment. The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) does not participate in E-Verify. The DOC will not sponsor applicants for work visas, including F-1 STEM OPT extensions.
