About the Role The Company is seeking a Deputy Provost for the Marine Institute and Executive Director for Professional and Continuing Education. This senior leadership role is pivotal in advancing the institution's vision and priorities, particularly in the areas of academic and industry partnerships, research, and the development of professional and continuing education programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance, strategic direction, and organizational effectiveness of the Marine Institute, with a strong focus on fostering an inclusive environment that supports academic excellence, research impact, and student success. Key responsibilities include institutional and academic leadership, research leadership, industry relationships, and external partnerships, as well as operational management and finance. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience, and a proven track record in senior leadership, financial management, and institutional planning. They should be adept at balancing consultation with decisive leadership, and be committed to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and Indigenization. Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic partnership skills are essential, as is the ability to lead organizational change and manage large teams. The role requires a leader who can support evidence-based decision-making, and strategic planning, and ensure the effective delivery of academic, training, and research mandates in alignment with the institution's mission.
