Job description
OUR PURPOSE

At HH Angus, we strive to expand what is possible to shape a better future. We do this by empowering our employees to do their best work, find meaning in what they do, and provide opportunities to grow. As an independent consulting firm with over 450 employees, we create innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients’ most complex challenges. Our passion is solving problems, innovation is our culture, sustainability is in our DNA, and we thrive on our clients’ success. MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) team, supporting some of Canada's most complex and impactful healthcare projects. This role will contribute to the successful delivery of hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, mental health centres, long-term care homes, research facilities, and healthcare redevelopment programs that help shape the future of patient care. In this role, you will lead multiple large-scale healthcare projects from planning through closeout, ensuring successful delivery of scope, budget, schedule, quality, and client objectives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, hospital stakeholders, user groups, and project partners to navigate complex project requirements while supporting environments that prioritize patient care, operational continuity, and long-term resilience. As a recognized subject matter expert within the organization, you will influence project delivery practices, mentor team members, contribute to business development initiatives, and help strengthen HH Angus' reputation as a trusted leader in healthcare consulting. Your leadership will help deliver projects that create meaningful outcomes for healthcare providers, patients, and communities. What You’ll Do

Develop project execution plans and manage scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality for multiple large and complex healthcare projects. Lead the successful delivery of hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, long-term care homes, mental health facilities, research facilities, and healthcare redevelopment projects through all phases of planning, design, construction, and occupancy. Support healthcare clients in achieving project objectives while balancing operational, clinical, technical, and stakeholder requirements. Ensure ERP systems contain accurate project information, resource forecasts, schedules, and key milestones to support effective project planning and execution. Maintain regular communication with clients, acting as a trusted advisor while fostering strong, long-term relationships with healthcare organizations, project partners, and key stakeholders. Lead engagement with hospital leadership teams, facilities departments, user groups, clinicians, consultants, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction to facilitate informed decision-making and project alignment. Maintain regular engagement with internal project teams to ensure clear roles, responsibilities, accountability, and project alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Leverage a deep understanding of HH Angus' technical capabilities, resources, and service offerings to guide project strategy and delivery. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to support successful project outcomes, including those related to operational continuity, phased implementation, and occupied healthcare environments. Work with limited oversight while managing competing priorities, multiple stakeholder groups, and complex project requirements. Oversee adherence to HH Angus quality management processes and ensure effective document management and document control practices. Ensure contract administration functions are properly executed throughout the project lifecycle and lead resolution of complex contractual matters. Support contract reviews, scope matrix development, and contract negotiations while ensuring project teams remain compliant with contractual obligations. Guide teams through construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, change management, commissioning coordination, and issue resolution. Support project teams in navigating construction and renovation activities within active healthcare environments while minimizing impacts to ongoing operations and patient care. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery systems, processes, and performance. Provide guidance, coaching, mentorship, and peer review support to project managers and project coordinators. Deliver internal training sessions and contribute to the development of project management best practices and standards. Introduce innovative solutions and delivery strategies that improve project performance, stakeholder engagement, and client outcomes. Effectively engage and influence project team members, technical leaders, healthcare stakeholders, and external partners to drive successful project execution. Provide strategic advice on budgets, schedules, scope, phasing strategies, and delivery approaches during business development pursuits. Independently lead small to medium-size proposals and contribute to larger pursuits by developing project approaches, reviewing submissions, and providing project delivery expertise. Support client relationship management efforts and identify opportunities for future work, service expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships. Contribute to achieving operational and financial targets that have a significant impact on departmental performance. Solve difficult and complex project challenges through analytical thinking, collaboration, and innovation. Make meaningful improvements to processes, systems, and project delivery methodologies that enhance organizational effectiveness. Other duties as required. What You’ll Bring

Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in engineering consulting, project management, or the AEC industry. Demonstrated experience leading large, complex healthcare projects, including hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, mental health facilities, long-term care homes, research facilities, healthcare redevelopments, or other institutional infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, contract administration, and construction processes. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong client relationships. Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and drive alignment among diverse project stakeholders. Recognized technical and/or project delivery expertise with a reputation for sound judgment and leadership. Forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and problem solving. PMP designation considered an asset. Experience with ERP and project management systems considered an asset. WHY HH ANGUS

Hybrid and flexible work options. Defined career path and mentorship support. Meaningful projects with real-world impact. Join one of Canada's leading healthcare engineering consulting teams, trusted by hospitals and healthcare organizations to deliver complex, high-impact projects. Comprehensive benefits, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities. Inclusive, collaborative culture where your voice matters. TOTAL REWARDS

The expected salary for this role is between $100,000 and $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary, we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short-Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension Plan, flexible work arrangements, and hybrid work structure. ARE YOU READY TO EXPAND WHAT IS POSSIBLE?
