Fraser Health is the largest of British Columbia's five regional health authorities, delivering integrated health care services to more than two million people across 20 municipalities stretching from Burnaby to Boston Bar.

Description

We recognize that Fraser Health provides care on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and N’laka’pamux Nations and is home to 32 First Nations within the Fraser Salish region. Fraser Health is dedicated to serving all Indigenous people, and honors the unique cultures of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit living within the Fraser Salish region.

Fraser Health is the largest of British Columbia's five regional health authorities, delivering integrated health care services to more than two million people across 20 municipalities stretching from Burnaby to Boston Bar. With more than 50,000 staff, medical staff and volunteers, an annual budget approaching $7 billion, and responsibility for one of Canada's fastest-growing and most culturally diverse regions, Fraser Health plays a critical role in shaping the future of health care in British Columbia. Guided by its vision of Better health. Best in health care, the organization is committed to delivering exceptional, equitable care while advancing reconciliation, strengthening Indigenous partnerships and improving health outcomes for the communities it serves.

Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Executive Team, the Vice President, Indigenous Health & Cultural Safety provides enterprise-wide leadership for one of Fraser Health's most important strategic priorities. The role is responsible for embedding Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility across governance, operations, clinical practice and service delivery while leading meaningful organizational transformation that advances reconciliation and Indigenous health equity. Working collaboratively with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Urban Indigenous communities, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers, the First Nations Health Authority, government partners and colleagues across the health system, the Vice President will influence policy, culture and decision-making to ensure Indigenous perspectives are integrated throughout the organization while leading Food & Nutrition Services which provides an opportunity to integrate Indigenous perspectives into everyday service delivery, ensuring that food, nutrition, and wellness are not only operational priorities, but meaningful expressions of culture, dignity, healing, and belonging.

This Vice President will play a critical role in advancing the organization's strategic priorities by supporting the CEO's pillars of service delivery, financial stewardship, community partnership, people, and quality.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive leader with experience leading complex organizational transformation within large, multifaceted environments. The preferred person will bring demonstrated ability to build authentic and enduring relationships with Indigenous communities and partners and their Executive Leadership Colleagues, together with a deep understanding of Indigenous health, reconciliation, Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, and health system leadership. Equally strategic and collaborative, this leader combines political acuity, emotional intelligence and sound judgment with the ability to inspire others, navigate complexity and create lasting organizational change through influence, trust, and accountability.

Based in Surrey, one of Canada's fastest-growing and most diverse cities within Metro Vancouver, this is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of Indigenous health across one of the country's largest and most influential health authorities. For a values-driven executive committed to reconciliation, health equity and meaningful system transformation, the role offers a rare opportunity to leave a lasting impact for Indigenous Peoples, Fraser Health and the broader health system in British Columbia.
The expected base salary range for this role is $192,000 – $220,000. Fraser Health supports equitable practices, and salary will be commensurate with experience and in alignment with pay equity policies.
