Job description

CSI Atlantic - Mental Health Consultant

The Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic (CSI Atlantic) is looking for a Mental Health Consultant. This position will operate out of Halifax and may involve some limited travel.

The CSI Atlantic develops partnerships and delivers programs that help to grow highperformance sport in Atlantic Canada at the community, provincial, university, and nationallevels. We provide performance and life services to athletes along with employment andeducational opportunities for coaches.

Description of Employment

Job Title: Mental Health Consultant
Employment Status: Contractor - 0.4 FTE (14 hrs / week - flexible)
WorkingLocations: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Requirements

  • Education:
    PhD, PsyD or Masters level Clinical or Counselling Psychology
  • Registration - Psychologists: Registered with provincial or territorial college or association of Psychologists (e.g. Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology)
  • Registration - Counsellor: Registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy association or provincial / territorial college or association (e.g. Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapist

Role Highlights

Mental HealthLeadership

  • Lead the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the National Mental Health Strategy in the region
  • Coordinate, communicate and manage the provision of mental health care
  • Design and implement mental health plans (policies and procedures) for CSI Atlantic athletes, coaches and identified NSOs
  • Participate and contribute to National Mental Health strategy implementation with National partners
  • Promotion of Mental Health initiatives for High Performance Sport
  • Nationally and throughout Atlantic Canada

Mental Health Education

  • Delivery of Mental health education focused on the prevention of mental health challenges and mental illness to CSI athletes,coaches and training groups

The compensation for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 HST inclusive.

Leadership en santé mentale

  • Diriger la mise en place, le suivi et l’évaluation de la stratégie nationale en matière de santé mentale dans la région
  • Coordonner, communiquer et gérer l’offre de soins de santé mentale
  • Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des plans en matière de santé mentale (politiques et procédures) pour les ONS identifiés, les entraîneurs et les athlètes de l’ICS Atlantique
