About Guardteck

Guardteck provides tailored security solutions for commercial buildings, residential communities, and public spaces across the region. As part of Kandor Management Corporation, we take a different approach to security—one built on accountability, initiative, and a commitment to going the extra mile for the people and properties we protect.

The Opportunity

Take ownership of the people, vehicles, and daily operations behind Guardteck’s mobile security services.

As Mobile Operations & Fleet Manager, you’ll lead frontline teams across a portfolio of mobile and static sites while overseeing the fleet, devices, and equipment that keep our operations moving. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you’ll balance client service, employee leadership, scheduling, fleet coordination, and operational support.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an organized and responsive leader who enjoys solving problems, developing teams, and keeping complex operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

Lead Operations and Client Service

  • Oversee daily security operations across a portfolio of mobile and static sites.
  • Act as a key operational contact for clients, Account Managers, supervisors, and internal support teams.
  • Ensure employees consistently meet Guardteck’s service standards, policies, and client expectations.
  • Review security reports, investigate incidents, and address performance or service concerns.
  • Conduct regular site and employee audits to confirm compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Meet with clients and internal stakeholders to review staffing, service levels, and operational priorities.
  • Support new contract launches by coordinating staffing, vehicles, equipment, and site requirements.
  • Keep clients and leadership informed of significant incidents, staffing changes, and site developments.

Lead and Develop Frontline Teams

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to guards, site supervisors, and mobile supervisors.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance and conduct.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide timely coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Support employee development through mentoring, recognition, and performance management.
  • Ensure employees have the training, information, equipment, and operational support needed to succeed.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, accountability, and excellent customer service.

Coordinate Scheduling and Coverage

  • Review schedules and open shifts to ensure sites remain properly staffed.
  • Work closely with dispatch to manage book-offs, emergency coverage, and last-minute requests.
  • Proactively address staffing gaps and maintain service continuity.
  • Ensure temporary and ad hoc assignments are accurately entered and staffed.
  • Confirm that shift descriptions and site instructions reflect client requirements.
  • Arrange supervisor visits to brief and assess employees assigned to new sites.
  • Develop permanent staffing plans when temporary coverage becomes ongoing.

Manage Fleet and Mobile Equipment

  • Oversee assigned vehicles and ensure they remain safe, clean, and operational.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing.
  • Maintain accurate fleet, inspection, and maintenance records.
  • Review GPS and vehicle data to identify unsafe driving, unauthorized use, extended stops, and other concerns.
  • Ensure dashcams and other vehicle technology are functioning properly.
  • Follow up on vehicle damage, collisions, maintenance concerns, and driver-related incidents.
  • Partner with Kandor Fleet Support to resolve issues and improve vehicle utilization.
  • Promote safe and responsible driving practices across the mobile team.
  • Ensure phones, keys, and operational equipment are functional, tracked, and available when needed.
  • Troubleshoot basic device issues and escalate complex concerns to Technical Services.

Support After-Hours Operations

  • Provide occasional operational support to after-hours dispatch.
  • Respond to urgent staffing issues and significant incidents involving mobile or static sites.
  • Make timely decisions to protect employees, clients, vehicles, and service continuity.
  • Escalate serious incidents to senior leadership and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.

Maintain Accurate Administration

  • Review employee hours and ensure records are accurate before payroll deadlines.
  • Complete payroll corrections, vacation requests, reimbursements, uniform requests, and other operational documentation.
  • Coordinate the movement of keys, devices, uniforms, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and complete required follow-up on time.

What You Bring

  • Experience leading multi-site operations in security, facilities, logistics, property management, or another service-driven environment.
  • Previous experience supervising and developing frontline employees.
  • Experience managing client relationships and resolving service concerns.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach employees, set expectations, and manage performance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Sound judgment and confidence making decisions in fast-moving situations.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and incident-investigation skills.
  • Comfort using scheduling, payroll, GPS, reporting, or workforce-management systems.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
  • Availability to provide occasional after-hours operational support.
  • A valid BC driver’s licence, an acceptable driver’s abstract, and the ability to travel between client sites.

The Following Would Be an Asset

  • Experience working in the security industry or managing mobile security operations.
  • Experience overseeing a vehicle fleet or coordinating fleet maintenance.
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety, GPS tracking, and driver accountability.
  • A valid BC Security Worker Licence or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with WinTeam, Shiftboard, PosiTrace, Lighthouse, or comparable platforms.

What Success Looks Like

  • Mobile and static sites are reliably staffed and supported.
  • Clients receive timely communication and consistently strong service.
  • Frontline employees understand expectations and receive effective leadership.
  • Vehicles and equipment are safe, properly maintained, and used responsibly.
  • Staffing, fleet, payroll, and equipment concerns are addressed before they affect service.
  • Operational processes become more consistent, efficient, and accountable.
