Role Description The Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role based at SHUYI TEALICIOUS in Ottawa, ON. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, team members, and company property. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring the premises, conducting regular patrols inside and outside the store, and identifying potential safety or security risks. The Security Guard will respond to incidents, de-escalate conflicts when possible, and follow company protocols for reporting and documentation. The role also involves assisting customers and staff with security-related concerns, coordinating with management and local authorities when needed, and supporting compliance with health and safety guidelines. Qualifications - Strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to interact calmly and respectfully with customers, team members, and visitors. - Experience or training in Physical Security, including access control, surveillance, and routine patrols of the premises. - Knowledge of Personnel Security practices, focusing on protecting staff and supporting a safe workplace environment. - Background in Private Security or related security services, with familiarity in incident response and reporting procedures. - Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions under pressure; strong observational skills and attention to detail. - High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism, with a commitment to following company policies and local regulations. - Valid security guard license or certification as required by provincial regulations in Ontario. - Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical activities for extended periods; capability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environments is an asset.
