Job description
Term Contract Position ending May 2027 Start Date: ASAP Hours: Approximately 820 hours over the term of the contract. Weekly hours are flexible and will vary based on program requirements – minimum of one full weekday per week required. Work location: Hybrid (Remote and occasionally in-office) About Techsploration For nearly 30 years, Techsploration has inspired female and gender-diverse youth (grades 9 – 12) to explore careers in science, engineering, technology and the trades (SETT) - all fields where women+ remain significantly underrepresented. We utilize an experiential learning program model that centres around connecting students with female and gender diverse role models working in SETT, all while learning about career pathways, building critical soft skills, and growing confidence. Youth leave the program feeling empowered and eager to challenge outdated stereotypes around gender and career. As part of our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, Techsploration is expanding the accessibility of our work by developing a French version of the program, which we hope to pilot in several Nova Scotian French Immersion schools in the 2026-27 school year. This is our first time offering programming in French. Our long term goals are to: · build our internal capacity to offer programming in French, · build strong collaborative relationships with key contacts involved with French Immersion and CSAP education, working with them to co-design, test and iterate French programming, · recruit and foster a community of bilingual role models and volunteers to contribute to the program, · over time, grow the pilot into a robust French language program that can eventually be delivered to French learners across the Province. Position Summary Techsploration is seeking a highly organized, enthusiastic, and collaborative Bilingual French Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of our new French pilot program. Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with Techsploration's Programming Team, the successful candidate will adapt Techsploration's existing program model into a version that meets the needs of French learners while maintaining the core goals and values of the organization. The 2026-27 iteration of the pilot will focus on French Immersion schools. The French Program Manager will continue collaborating with French Immersion staff on the 26-27 pilot while also working to build relationships with CSAP staff to explore if/how we may be able to tailor the program to also include CSAP students in future years. This role will center around relationship building, program development, project management, and program delivery – shaping the future of French programming at Techsploration. Hours of Work: Approximately 820 hours over the term of the contract. While the position is expected to average 20 hours per week, weekly hours may fluctuate throughout the school year to accommodate program delivery and operational needs. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver the first iteration of Techsploration’s French Language Pilot Program in Nova Scotia French Immersion schools in the 2026-27 school year, while also building capacity and relationships that will enable longer term growth and inclusion in the program. This work includes: · Consulting closely with Techsploration program staff, the NS Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) French Programs Department, Regional Centres for Education (RCEs) and target French Immersion schools to finalize the 26.27 pilot program design. · Working collaboratively with Techsploration's Programming Team to ensure consistency with existing programming, messaging, and organizational goals. · Planning, coordinating and delivering the 26.27 pilot in French Immersion schools, including coordinating program logistics, scheduling, communications, and resource distribution. · Liaising with the EECD, RCEs, school administrators, teachers, and other education partners on program development, pilot delivery, and long-term program iteration. · Liaising with and managing program vendors and suppliers such as event venues and caterers. · Recruiting, onboarding/orienting and retaining teachers, as well as bilingual role models and volunteers for the program. · Building and maintaining positive working relationships with all program stakeholders. · Developing and implementing evaluation tools that will generate feedback from educators and participants to support continuous improvement of the pilot program. · Assisting with reporting on program outcomes, and providing recommendations for how to further refine, improve, and grow the program. · Building and maintaining relationships with CSAP leaders, staff, and educators to explore if and how we could include CSAP students in future programming. · Participating in team meetings and contribute to ongoing Techsploration program and strategic planning work. · Developing and delivering French language outreach programming as needed. · Provide other support to Techsploration programs as needed. Qualifications · Fluently bilingual in English and French (spoken and written). · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both official languages. · Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. · Comfortable building relationships with educators, school administrators, government partners, and community organizations. · Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication platforms. Assets · Experience working in education, program coordination, community engagement, or a related field. · Experience working with French Immersion and/or CSAP education in Nova Scotia. · Knowledge of Nova Scotia's education system. · Experience developing educational programming or curriculum resources. · Familiarity with career education, experiential learning, or STEM/Trades youth programming. · Experience facilitating workshops, events or educational activities. Requirements · Valid driver's licence and access to personal, reliable transportation (public transit not sufficient due to provincial travel requirements) · Ability and availability to travel throughout the province · Ability to lift 50lbs · Clear Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry checks required for successful candidate · Must be able to travel to Techsploration's Dartmouth office for occasional in-person meetings and travel throughout southern/southwestern Nova Scotia as required. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building relationships, is passionate about education and equity, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape a new program from the ground up. They are adaptable, creative, and committed to creating meaningful learning experiences for youth.
