OUR OPPORTUNITY This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and energetic Junior Project Manager to join the Edmonton team. You will drive the successful planning and delivery of primarily interior ICI construction projects through key activities such as scheduling, budgeting, resource planning and client communication. Leveraging knowledge of construction processes from tender through construction and close-out, you will ensure our client projects are executed on schedule, within budget and at the highest quality. Your responsibilities will include: - Ensure projects are executed on schedule, within budget and at the highest quality. - Proactively manage project processes and documents, such as project set up, bid packages, subcontract management, drawings, purchase orders, contracts, building permits, change order requests and pricing, RFIs, RFQs, close out etc. - Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients. - Perform project estimates and oversees procurement of materials, labour and equipment. - Setup and maintain accurate project information and data in our computerized project management system (CMiC). - Establish and maintain updated project records for project accounting, billings and complete all change orders. - Ensure a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and Govan Brown’s safety practices. - Provide top notch service to clients by responding professionally and with a sense of urgency Desired Skills and Experience - Construction Management, Engineering or related diploma or degree - 4+ years of experience in the Commercial Construction/Interior fit-up industry - Strong ability to read and understand construction-related drawings/documents - Estimating experience - Strong knowledge of construction processes through all phases – startup through construction and closeout - Proactively identify problems / issues and develop effective solutions - Tech savvy in Microsoft Office suite and project management software - Confidence and professionalism to communicate effectively with clients, trades and peers - Takes initiative and effective in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple and competing demands - Highly organized and a stickler for detail - Ability to work under minimal supervision / direction as well as part of a team - Positive spirit with a “get ‘er done” attitude YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT - Primary work location is 10171 Saskatchewan Drive NW, Edmonton, AB with potential for work-related travel. - Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons. - On-site and in-office.
