Project Superintendent (Night Shift) Location: Campbell River, BC Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Shift: Night Shift (5:30 PM start | Approx. 9-hour shifts) Our client is a leading heavy civil contractor delivering some of Canada's largest infrastructure projects, including bridges, highways, tunnels, marine structures, hydroelectric facilities, and renewable energy developments. This opportunity is based on a major dam project in Campbell River, British Columbia. The successful candidate will join the project team as a Night Shift Project Superintendent, providing on-site leadership while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities - Provide leadership, direction, and support to site personnel, subcontractors, and project teams. - Develop a thorough understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and subcontract agreements. - Assist the Project Manager in developing, maintaining, and achieving project schedules and milestones. - Plan and coordinate construction activities, including safety, quality, environmental procedures, staging, equipment, and workforce requirements. - Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, suppliers, inspection agencies, and internal crews. - Identify and resolve construction issues while maintaining productivity and quality standards. - Lead daily operations and chair regular safety and coordination meetings. - Prepare daily reports detailing labour, materials, equipment, and project progress. - Review and approve timecards, subcontractor payment requests, material vouchers, and invoices. - Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the public. Qualifications - 3–5+ years of experience in a construction supervision role on heavy civil infrastructure projects. - Demonstrated experience with earthworks, structural concrete, forming, and drilling operations. - Experience working on dam, hydroelectric, bridge, highway, or other major infrastructure projects is highly preferred. - Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent organizational and time management abilities. - Familiarity with construction administration and project documentation. - Basic understanding of project cost control and financial processes. - Strong written and verbal English communication skills; bilingualism is considered an asset.
