Role Title: Mechanical Engineering Subject Matter Expert

micro1 is selectiong Mechanical Engineering Subject Matter Experts to participate in a dynamic project for a valued customer.
In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required, your domain knowledge is what matters.
Scope of Work
- Analyze and solve advanced mechanical engineering problems across engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, vibrations, and manufacturing disciplines.
- Evaluate and review AI-generated technical content for engineering accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Apply practical engineering judgment to real-world design and analysis scenarios, ensuring realistic and feasible solutions.
- Deliver constructive technical feedback to enhance the reasoning and output quality of AI models.
- Assess proposed engineering solutions for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Document detailed explanations and rationales underpinning engineering decisions and recommendations.
- Collaborate remotely with a multidisciplinary team, leveraging strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or BS with 8+ years of related industry experience.
- 5+ years advancing real-world mechanical design, product development, analysis, or R&D initiatives.
- Proven experience in delivering products or mechanical systems through to production.
- Deep expertise in Engineering Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Vibrations, and Manufacturing.
- Outstanding analytical and engineering problem-solving abilities applied to complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrated professional proficiency in English, with particular strength in both written and verbal communication.
- Previous involvement in multidisciplinary or remote engineering projects is a plus.
Compensation Structure
Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.
