Job description

Commonsense is looking for a Warehouse Operator to join an international company in the chemical industry based in Montreal, Canada.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring that the unloading, storage, picking, packing, loading and dispatch of finished goods are carried out safely, accurately and on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Check material against supplier’s documentation and purchase order and register in SAP.
  • Unload deliveries from vehicles.
  • Produce and attach pallet label indicating order number, delivery date, quantity, product number and description for all daily shipments
  • Place delivered stock in appropriate pallet location in the correct Warehouse.
  • Accurately pick orders from stock and prepare them for despatch using the FIFO principal.
  • Check that the correct products are picked against customer requirements and cross referenced against the SAP Pick List.
  • Ensure that all finished goods are packed correctly so as to avoid damage during transportation to the customer.
  • Ensure that general housekeeping is maintained to a high standard and that waste is kept to a minimum.
  • Load all vehicles arriving to collect goods.
  • Ensure that drivers arriving to collect goods have the correct paperwork to collect the required goods, paying particular attention to drivers who report to collect goods of a hazardous nature (ADR).

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing general warehouse operations.
  • Experience using warehouse handling equipment
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence
  • Self-motivated, responsible, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively and consistently deliver high-quality results.
