WHO WE NEED We are seeking a Coordinator, ROMKids to support the delivery of engaging, inclusive, and care-based programming for children, youth, and families.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, ROMKids and Manager, ROMKids, you will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of camps, clubs, early years programs, and other ROMKids initiatives while supporting program development, staff and volunteer coordination, and participant experience.

The successful candidate will provide operational leadership during program delivery, helping ensure programs run safely, smoothly, and consistently while fostering welcoming and engaging learning environments.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with children, supporting frontline teams, and creating exceptional educational experiences.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Coordinate the daily delivery of ROMKids camps, clubs, early years programs, and other child and youth programming Support the development and continuous improvement of engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences inspired by ROM's collections and exhibitions Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to instructors, programming staff, and volunteers Coordinate program logistics, scheduling, attendance, supplies, budgets, and studio readiness to ensure smooth operations Foster safe, welcoming, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experiences for children, youth, and families Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, and ongoing support for staff and volunteers Support program evaluation by gathering feedback, tracking outcomes, and contributing to reports and recommendations Respond to participant, caregiver, and staff inquiries while assisting with incident response, documentation, and follow-up Provide direct support during behavioural, emotional, or participant care situations using compassionate, trauma-informed approaches Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance participant experiences and support departmental initiatives Perform other related duties in support of ROMKids programming WHAT YOU BRING University degree in Education, Museum Studies, Child & Youth Studies, or a related field Minimum 3–5 years of experience coordinating camps, museum education, childcare, early years, or youth-focused programming Experience supporting and coaching staff and volunteers within dynamic program environments Demonstrated experience contributing to program development, curriculum planning, and program evaluation Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in fast-paced environments Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities Experience working with children, youth, and families in inclusive, participant-centred environments Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and visitor-centred practice Experience supporting participant wellbeing, child protection, and care-based programming Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard workplace technology Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening Availability to work weekends, with occasional early morning and evening shifts WHAT WE OFFER Comprehensive benefits coverage: For permanent and full-time contract positions (conditions apply), enjoy paid benefits for individuals and families, a health spending account, and an Employee Assistance Program.
