Director, Board of Directors About the Company Large federal port Industry Government Administration Type Government Agency Founded 2008 Employees 501-1000 Categories - Vancouver - Government - Marine Transportation - Shipping About the Role The Company is seeking a new member for its Board of Directors, which is dedicated to the stewardship of federal port lands and the facilitation of trade while ensuring environmental protection. The successful candidate will be part of an independent Board that is accountable to the federal minister of transport and will operate in a highly complex strategic environment with a significant impact on the national economy. The role involves supervising the management of the organization, upholding the highest standards of governance, and acting in the best interests of the broader entity. Ideal candidates for the Board of Directors position at the company are senior leaders from the private or public sector, preferably with prior board governance experience. The role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in executive management, particularly in the areas of financial analysis, risk management, budgeting, and accounting systems. Knowledge of strategic corporate and infrastructure finance, especially in the context of large-scale projects, is essential, and experience in complex legal and regulatory matters is an asset. The candidate should also possess strong communication skills, stakeholder management expertise, and values that align with the company's mandate.
