Your role

Join our team asa Senior Project Manager in the Atlanticbusiness unit!

We’re looking for outstanding project leaders who are organized, have a keen eye for details and have led and managed complex projects from start to finish – on time and on budget with our Atlantic business unit.

This highly rewarding role will see you lead project management teams to deliver various projects across Newfoundland and Labrador, from commercial buildings and fit-ups, social organizations, infrastructure, water and wastewater as well as a variety of projects within municipalities and Indigenous communities.

Take a positive approach to your work and enjoy learning and contributing new ideas and solutions. Build strong relationships with your teammates and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead multiple high-performing project teams, driving excellence in project delivery and cultivating a collaborative, empowered team culture. Shape and influence multidisciplinary teams to exceed client expectations.
  • Provide strategic project leadership, guiding clients through every phase—from initial setup to execution and into operations, ensuring success at every step.
  • Act as a trusted partner, applying your expertise in design, construction, and operations to help our clients to navigate the complexities of capital projects, delivering results that align with their vision.
  • Be the key connector with your leadership and communication skills, bringing together diverse teams to deliver outstanding, community-focused projects that leave a lasting legacy.
  • Build lasting relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and relationship manager for key clients, nurturing partnerships that drive mutual success.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Designated Project Managers and Assistant Project managers on your projects, including participation in project and site meetings, solving complex challenges, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring every project stays on track and delivers results.
  • Oversee the control of project related documents to ensure your project management teams deliver all work in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System and procedures
  • Participate in the development of our staff, participating in mentoring and developing Project Managers and Assistant Project managers reporting to you.
  • Shape the future of our business, working with our leadership team to contribute to the strategic growth of our business unit and help us expand our impact on the industry.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record with 8+ years of project management experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders in the delivery of projects of varying size and scope in a range of sectors such as institutional, healthcare, educational or commercial mixed-use, demonstrating your ability to lead complex, high-impact initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of various types of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law and relevant legislation
  • Clear understanding of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment is an asset
  • Effective client management, people management leadership and organizational skills matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and ensuring cost-effective delivery.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent designation is highly valued, demonstrating your commitment to professional excellence (you will be asked to work towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute within your first year).
  • Expert in client and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence key decision-makers and resolve a variety of challenges, whether commercial, technical, or interpersonal, while maintaining focus on project objectives and ensuring smooth coordination.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a related field showcasing your strong foundation in project management, design, and construction principles.
