Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) About the Company Pioneering government agency serving the local community Industry Government Administration Type Government Agency Founded 2001 Employees 11-50 About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to serve as the senior administrative leader for the municipality. The CAO will be responsible for providing strategic and community-focused leadership, implementing the Council's vision and priorities, and ensuring the effective delivery of municipal programs and services. This role involves overseeing the Town's administrative operations, leading the Management Team, and establishing systems for performance monitoring, service quality, and financial and administrative controls. The successful candidate will also serve as the principal advisor to the Council, support effective governance, and lead all human resources functions, including staffing, labor relations, and organizational culture. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, public administration, or a related field, and completion of the Municipal Administration Program (MAP) through AMCTO. A minimum of 5 years' of senior management experience within a municipal government environment is required, with additional professional designations and certifications considered assets. The role demands a candidate with a strong focus on governance, financial stewardship, and long-term planning, who can advance sustainable community and economic development, strengthen partnerships, and position the municipality for long-term success. The CAO will also be responsible for fulfilling statutory and delegated roles, including serving as the Accountable Executive for the local airport and being a member of the Community Emergency Management Team.
