Job description
Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Contract Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their dynamic team for a 12 month contract. This is a strong opportunity for a skilled payroll professional ready to take on a critical role within a collaborative environment. In this role, you would play a key role in processing bi-weekly payroll, handling deductions, and utilizing a ticketing system for employee support. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, possess multi-provincial payroll expertise (including Quebec), and are eager to contribute to a growing organization, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the team, manage and process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian employees, ensuring accurate deductions and timely completion.
  • Utilize a ticketing system to provide support for payroll and benefits-related inquiries.
  • Potentially travel very occasionally to assist with acquisitions, attend company events, or mail tax forms.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of well-rounded payroll experience, with multi-provincial payroll exposure (including Quebec) and experience with year-end activities.
  • Experience with Workday
  • Strong independent work ethic and self-starter, while still being a team player who can effectively communicate and collaborate in a virtual work environment.
  • Willingness to work roughly 44 hours per week (paid hourly).
  • Prior experience working with a ticketing system for customer service.
  • Preferred qualifications: bilingual in French and English, experience with unionized payroll, PCP or PLP designation
