Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters. The Position At Roche, we advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love.

As a Country Therapeutic Area Leader (cTAL), you will play a pivotal role in driving local leadership, shaping country-level strategy, and delivering our therapeutic area objectives. You will lead high-performing teams, foster innovation, and translate global priorities into impactful local delivery plans that accelerate our clinical trials and expand pipeline opportunities for patients. In this strategic role, you will be the vital bridge connecting internal global networks and key external clinical partners. You will build and maintain crucial relationships across healthcare systems, investigator networks, and patient advocacy groups while ensuring operational excellence across all clinical studies in your therapeutic area. By joining our collaborative team, you will empower people, optimize local trial performance, and make a tangible contribution to the future of healthcare.

The Opportunity

Accountable for developing, executing, and monitoring the country therapeutic area (TA) strategy in strict alignment with global priorities and local operational plans. Ensure the successful country-level delivery of all clinical studies within your assigned TA, working closely with Clinical Research Engagement Leaders and CRO partners to achieve timelines and quality standards. Perform comprehensive country landscaping activities for new and existing therapeutic areas to assess competitive environments, identify trial opportunities, and support pipeline growth. Build and nurture strong, sustainable relationships with external clinical sites, investigator networks, hospital networks, collaborative research groups, and Patient Advocacy Groups. Proactively collaborate with regional TA leaders, global asset teams, and local Medical Affairs to resolve complex challenges and streamline study execution. Champion a culture of inclusion, high performance, and continuous development by coaching, mentoring, and managing local team members and future leaders. Partner with operational analytics and clinical excellence leaders to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that enhance trial efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Who You Are

You are a visionary, strategic leader who thrives on building meaningful relationships, empowering teams, and navigating dynamic global environments. You excel at translating complex, long-term plans into clear, actionable results while championing an inclusive culture that inspires growth and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with extensive, hands‑on knowledge of product development, clinical trial execution, and global clinical regulations/guidelines.
  • A degree (MD, PhD, MA/MS, or BA/BS) in life sciences or an equivalent quantitative/scientific discipline.
  • Exceptional strategic planning skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, exercise sound judgment under situational constraints, and formulate long-term delivery plans.
  • Proven leadership capability to inspire and motivate diverse teams, foster cross‑functional collaboration, and delegate decision‑making with clear boundaries and expectations.
  • Strong customer‑centric focus with demonstrated ability to build sustainable, trust‑based relationships across global matrix teams and external patient/clinical networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with proven agility in managing multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred

  • A postgraduate or master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • Relocation Benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Mississauga is 148,568.00 and 194,995.50 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors as determined by the company.
