Advisor - Communications

What will your typical day look like?

• Play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Employee Communications Strategy, including monitoring and reporting on communication effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with bureaus and leaders across the organization to develop, coordinate and deliver employee communications.
• Support leadership and executive communications, including Chief and Chief's Management Group.
• Draft clear, accurate and audience-focused messaging, leveraging a variety of communication channels to effectively reach employees across the organization.
• Stay current on emerging trends, best practices and technologies in employee communications.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Enough about us, lets talk about you

You are someone with:

• A Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Government Relations, English or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in Journalism, Media & Public Relations, Government Relations or Communications.
• Advanced research, writing and editing skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with various social media platforms, with ability to interpret analytics from social media platforms.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft 365 and other workflow/management software i.e. Monday.com, Hootsuite etc.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative environment to gather information from across the organization and generate communications.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

What we offer

The salary range for these permanent, full-time positions is $65,331.00 to $102,470.00 per annum. Please note that these vacancies are newly budgeted positions. Peel Regional Police offer a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($77,290.00 - $102,470.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.

These positions DOES NOT allow for regular remote working arrangements.
