Job Title: Systems Administrator

Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on Systems Administrator who thrives in complex, security-focused environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging infrastructure and networking problems, automating processes, and working closely with engineering teams to deploy and maintain highly secure systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure Windows, Linux, and VMware environments
• Configure and support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and security appliances
• Troubleshoot complex systems and network issues across multiple layers of infrastructure
• Automate administrative and operational tasks using scripting tools
• Support cyber security initiatives, including system hardening, vulnerability scanning, firewall management, GPOs, and air-gapped environments
• Deploy and support containerized workloads and modern infrastructure platforms
• Collaborate closely with engineering, integration, and customer teams to deliver reliable solutions
• Maintain documentation, configuration control, and compliance requirements for secure environments
• Participate in customer site deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities as required

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Administration experience in enterprise, engineering, defense, manufacturing, or similarly complex environments
• Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in computer systems, computer science, information systems, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proven experience administering both Linux and Windows operating systems
• Strong VMware administration and virtualization experience
• Strong networking, including:Switching and routingFirewall configuration and policy managementTCP/IP networking fundamentalsNetwork troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Experience with cyber security tools, practices, and processes, including system hardening, scanning, GPOs, and secure/air-gapped environments
• Scripting and automation experience using one or more of:PowerShellBash/ShellPythonSalt
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work across systems, networks, and infrastructure
• Team-oriented mindset with experience collaborating across technical disciplines

Nice to Have

• SUSE Linux administration experience
• Docker and/or Terraform experience
• CCNA/CCNP-level networking knowledge

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.62 - $55.28/hr.
