Note: The posted pay range reflects only base salary, there will also be an additional bonus component.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and coach your team to create a positive, high-performing, and engaged branch culture.
  • Drive collaboration, accountability, customer focus, and safety in alignment with company values.
  • Oversee and direct daily branch operations to ensure efficiency, service consistency, and an exceptional customer experience.
  • Monitor branch performance and develop plans to grow Trench Safety revenues and operational efficiency.
  • Champion Cooper’s safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
  • Partner with the People and Culture Team on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee inventory and fleet utilization, ensuring equipment is rental ready through effective shop flow; recommend fleet adjustments as needed.
  • Manage branch financials, including budgets and monthly P&Ls.
  • Supervise welders, technicians, and yard coordinators, setting priorities and ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are met.
  • Collaborate with the team at your branch and across departments to drive solutions, streamline processes, and support company-wide goals.
  • Lead monthly operating meetings.
  • Stay current on market trends and competitor activity, adjusting strategies to remain competitive.
  • Represent the company by attending industry events, networking, and promoting the brand.

What You'll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the construction industry (civil construction experience preferred), with a minimum of 2 years of experience in shoring.
  • Understanding of rental fleet management and the construction/equipment rental industry is an asset.
  • Post-secondary diploma with a civilengineeringbackground an asset (or equivalent relevant work experience).
  • Underground construction knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge in pipe or utility work, trenchshoring, civil construction and/or large excavator sales is considered an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); able to interact professionally with customers, drivers, service technicians, and sales staff.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; Leads with honesty, earns trust, and always does the right thing — even when no one’s watching.
  • Must be very flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, shifting gears as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making abilities, and able to stay professional and calm under pressure.
  • Strong business sense, with experience managing budgets, reviewing P&Ls, and planning for growth.
  • Confident using tools like Excel and Word; PowerBI knowledge is a bonus. Systematics experience is also an asset.
