Job description

Join Amrize as a CAPEX Analyst and help construct what's next. If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter — and build a career with a company that’s building North America — we want to hear from you!

About The Role

Reporting to the Capital Planning and Systems Manager, the Capex Analyst is responsible for the financial tracking, analysis, and process management of the company’s capital expenditure projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate capitalization of assets, maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The Capex Analyst will collaborate with multiple departments to facilitate the lifecycle of capital projects from budget approval to completion.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Complete Asset Under Construction (AUC) process to ensure timely and correct capitalization of assets
  • Manage and coordinate auxiliary tasks that arise due to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance regulations.
  • Transform data and spreadsheet-based outcomes into deliverable, management-level reporting for operational managers and executives.
  • Create reporting dashboards for business units upon request.
  • Conduct analysis and tracking of the cash-out timing of Capex bookings.
  • Calculate and track key financial performance metrics resulting from Capex projects (e.g., ROIC, EBITDA Gains, Revenue Growth).
  • Coordinate and complete financial modeling for Capex business cases.
  • Manage Capex project entries into SAP for budget approval and release.
  • Create and track Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for Capex projects.
  • Maintain the integrity of Capex tracking tools and the accuracy of the WCAN ACM Capex plan in Axiom.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

What We're Looking For

Education: Post-secondary education (University Degree or Diploma); a strong aptitude for the role's requirements is prioritized.

Field of Study Preferred: Engineering or Commerce.

Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience from larger construction companies, mining, or the oil and gas industry is highly valued.

Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, Axiom, MS Suite, and Google Suite.

Location: Based in our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver office.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a continuous learner, actively pursuing the use of modern database and mining tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) and leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and drive insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate continuous improvement activities with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • A background in Corporate Finance is a strong asset.
  • Process-oriented with strong administrative and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Finance Managers, Financial Planning and Analysis teams, and IT personnel.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

What We Offer

  • Flexible Health & Dental benefits coverage for you and your dependants
  • A generous Pension Plan designed to support you through various stages of your career and life
  • Access to voluntary programs like RRSP and TFSA for future financial planning
  • Healthy Living support through an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential assistance for work, health, or life challenges
  • Easy access to mental health and well-being support
  • Service recognition awards to celebrate your contributions
  • Perks & discounts on a variety of products and services
  • Access to online learning platforms, financial educational assistance, and a culture that fosters career growth and opportunities
  • Financial support for new parents beyond statutory benefits
  • An inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves
  • A collaborative work culture in a supportive and team-oriented work environment
  • Company-provided personal protective equipment ensuring your safety and comfort on the job where applicable

As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
