We're searching for a Vice President, Personal Lines - BC. Are you searching for new possibilities?

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is looking for an accomplished insurance executive to lead one of the most strategically important areas of our business. This is a hybrid role based out of our Surrey head office.

As Vice President, Personal Lines - BC, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, and profitable growth of our Personal Lines business across British Columbia. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Distribution, you'll influence enterprise priorities, strengthen insurer partnerships, develop exceptional leaders, and drive business performance across the region.

This is more than an operational leadership role. You'll lead through complexity and change, champion operational excellence, support business transformation and acquisitions, and play a key role in advancing the future of Personal Lines at one of Canada's fastest-growing insurance brokerages.

If you're a collaborative, strategic executive who thrives on leading change, building high-performing teams, delivering meaningful business results, and creating exceptional client and employee experiences, we'd love to meet you.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $176,000 - $220,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual compensation will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, market conditions, and internal equity.

Westland also offers a competitive annual short-term incentive program that enables employees to share in the rewards of the business and emphasizes the measures that are key to our success.

Westland is committed to continuous learning where employees can grow their potential and write the stories of their careers. Financial assistance is available for approved work-related training and development programs, including courses, seminars, and conferences that support your professional growth.
Discover what's possible, with Westland.

The Westland story is one of growth, opportunity, and possibility. Every day, we prove that building a great business means taking care of clients, communities, and each other with equal commitment. As we continue to evolve, we're inviting exceptional leaders to help shape what's next.

As Vice President, Personal Lines - BC, you'll step into a role with broad influence and the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Working alongside an experienced executive team, you'll lead meaningful change, strengthen organizational capability, develop future leaders, and help unlock the next phase of Personal Lines at Westland.

Why you'll love Westland

  • An open, flexible and welcoming workplace
  • Plenty of opportunities to grow and learn
  • Autonomy to drive your own success
  • Be part of our inclusive culture, alongside an extraordinarily talented community of people with a wide variety of backgrounds
  • A total rewards program that takes care of your financial, physical, and mental health
  • Flexible paid Values Days to celebrate days important to you
  • Paid Volunteer Days for employees as part of Amplifying Communities, a program to support causes that matter most to our employees and clients

Why we'll love you

  • Extensive senior leadership experience within Personal Lines insurance, with a minimum of 10 years leading sales, service, and business performance in a brokerage or related environment.
  • Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed teams through leaders, building accountability, engagement, and a high-performance culture.
  • A strategic leadership approach with the ability to translate enterprise priorities into actionable plans while balancing business objectives, operational realities, and client outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage data, insights, and sound judgment to drive performance, identify opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading organizational growth, business transformation, acquisitions, and change while maintaining strong employee engagement and business continuity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships across the business, with insurer partners, and throughout the industry to influence outcomes and create long-term value.
  • A passion for developing leaders, strengthening organizational capability, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Level 3 General Insurance License preferred, or willingness to obtain based on transferable experience from an applicable business environment. Industry designations such as CIP, FCIP, CAIB, or CRM are considered assets.

Once here you'll

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team, building organizational capability, strengthening succession, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Regional Leaders to execute business strategy, drive advisor productivity, improve operational performance, and achieve sustainable business results.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with insurer partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders while representing Westland in the marketplace.
  • Champion initiatives that simplify operations, enhance service delivery, and improve business performance across the Personal Lines portfolio.
  • Lead the operational integration of acquired businesses, ensuring seamless transitions while maintaining employee engagement, client retention, and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with executive leaders across the organization to influence enterprise initiatives, solve complex business challenges, and help advance the future of Personal Lines at Westland.
  • Travel as required to support leadership effectiveness, partner relationships, and business priorities.
