WLIC - MA103: Calculus I - Lab Instructor (Fall 2026)

Position Summary

: Limits and continuity; differential and integral calculus of functions of a single variable; the Mean Value Theorem; determination of extrema; the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and techniques of integration; introduction to series.

Course Delivery

WLIC offers this lab with an in-person mode of delivery.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate (via teaching dossier and interview) knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of chemistry laboratories; including, but not limited to:

• Providing engaging and interactive laboratory instruction including best practices for assessments.
• Use course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative learning community with and between students in the course.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work.
• Respond to student academic and course administration inquiries in a timely manner and refer students to technical support or student support when appropriate.
• Support academic integrity in the creation and administration of assignments, tests, and exams.

Qualifications – Required: Master’s Degree

Qualifications – Discipline: Mathematics of Statistics

Qualifications – Professional Designation: MA or MSc degree in Mathematics or Statistics.

Qualifications – Other:

• Ability to prepare course documents using LaTeX.
• Previous experience teaching international students would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience in HyFlex teaching would be considered an asset.
• Instructors must agree to teach this course with a HyFlex mode of delivery.

Salary:$3,404.13 for teaching the lab component @2 hour labs per week x12 weeks
