Job description
Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Control Officer to support multiple Project Managers and critical technology initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate project activities, maintain project plans and reporting, monitor risks and issues, and ensure that project documentation is accurate and up to date.

This role requires strong project coordination experience, excellent stakeholder-management skills, and experience supporting projects involving mainframe or legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Managers, Project Managers, and project teams in planning, coordinating, communicating, and delivering core project components.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, work plans, schedules, and tracking tools.
  • Gather updates from multiple stakeholder groups and maintain:
    • Project budgets
    • Progress reports
    • Action-item logs
    • Risk and issue registers
    • Status-reporting logs
  • Prepare management dashboards, executive summaries, and project status reports.
  • Identify project risks and issues and escalate them to the appropriate Managers or Project Managers.
  • Coordinate and track project deliverables and supporting documentation.
  • Schedule, organize, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Record and follow up on decisions, action items, risks, and outstanding issues.
  • Monitor the project document repository and ensure documents are reviewed, maintained, and properly organized.
  • Support workflow management, including ticket tracking and risk and issue management.
  • Work with multiple Project Managers across concurrent, business-critical initiatives.
  • Support projects throughout the software development lifecycle using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • 7 10 years of project coordination or Project Control Officer experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple Managers and Project Managers on complex or critical projects.
  • Experience gathering project updates and maintaining budgets, progress reports, action items, risks, issues, and project documentation.
  • Experience preparing project status reports and maintaining status-reporting logs.
  • Experience identifying and escalating project risks and issues.
  • Experience coordinating project deliverables and documentation.
  • Experience scheduling and facilitating meetings.
  • Strong experience with project-management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planview, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of project-management concepts, including:
    • Project goals and scope
    • Risk and issue management
    • Project planning
    • Roles and responsibilities
    • Cost management
    • Quality management
  • Experience supporting projects involving mainframe or legacy systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project-delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within the Ontario public sector or another government environment.
  • Public-sector project experience involving mainframe or legacy-system modernization.
  • Experience working in a Scrum environment.
  • Experience creating executive dashboards and management-level project summaries.
