Reporting to the Electrical Section Manager, the Project Manager is a dynamic engineer who collaborates within a multi-discipline team. This role contributes electrical engineering knowledge and analysis to the project during the design phase, with a core focus on Building Engineering Systems within Industrial, Transit, Data Centre and Healthcare markets. The role involves working on multiple projects in various locations, with opportunities for progression into project management or electrical engineering.specialized roles.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with all stakeholders (Electrical team, Project Manager, design team, and authorities having jurisdiction) to help achieve project success.
- Perform electrical Building Condition Assessments and deliver comprehensive facility condition reports.
- Prepare electrical drawings and perform relevant supporting calculations and / or modelling.
- Write and edit electrical specifications, select equipment, electrical systems and devices.
- Coach younger engineering and design staff; accountable for the work produced. Assign routine engineering tasks requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
- Work independently on small and medium projects and assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Coordinate workload to complete engineering tasks on schedule.
- Conduct work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Provide construction contract administration / support as needed, including field inspections and commissioning. Review submittals for compliance to contract documents.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders; incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
- Conduct QA / QC on the work of other electrical engineers, technicians, and drafters as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.

A minimum of 5 years experience of electrical design for buildings (lightning / power / systems)Knowledge and experience with relevant Provincial and Canadian electrical codes and regulationsExperience in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. Data Centre, Healthcare, and / or High Voltage experience desired.Strong computer skills and experience using AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, AGi32, Easy Power, ETAP, SKM, Bluebeam and the Microsoft Office suiteDemonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills in EnglishExperience and / or interest in sustainable design / LEED desiredPrevious experience with an architectural / engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredExperience in Revit would be an assetAdditional requirements
