We currently have an opening for an Airport Operations Manager at Montreal's Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport terminal.
In this role you will be closely with directors and departments ensuring smooth and reliable baggage processing including efficient coordination, regulatory compliance, and emergency management.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Maintenance Canada to optimize baggage handling systems' performance and reliability, while aligning operational principles with airport strategic priorities
- Lead and support a diverse team, overseeing performance and providing guidance as needed. Manage operational resources to meet demand and ensure smooth operations, including baggage handling and passenger transit support within the terminal
- Conduct field analyses and anticipate risks to service performance, implementing optimization strategies in collaboration within teams and with key stakeholders
- Manage obsolescence and develop action plans for continuous improvement of baggage handling systems, resolving operational issues and analyzing root causes of contingencies.
- Identify and formalize customer needs, proposing technical offers for system improvements in collaboration with operational teams, and participate in budget preparation and monitoring.
- Coordinate responses to emergencies, plan and prepare contingency operations, and participate in operational on-call periods as scheduled
- Coordinate emergency responses and contingency operations, ensuring documentation and procedures are up to date and stakeholders are trained
- Suggest improvements to the Health & Safety program, maintain a safe baggage room environment, and ensure appropriate equipment / tools are available
- Follow up on operational events, maintain transparent communication with the airport community, and represent the company to stakeholders
- Participate in technological monitoring, collaborate with relevant departments, and engage in operational and technical committees for service improvement.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in operations management or engineering (mechanical / electrical focus preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operations or maintenance management, preferably in an airport or similar setting
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
