Work Arrangements
The Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, is seeking a contract instructor to teach Canadian, Indigenous and / or American History for the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 semesters. Applicants must be available to teach at our New Westminster / Coquitlam campuses.
In addition, the department invites applicants for placement on a contract list of instructors. The successful applicant(s) will be qualified to teach a variety of courses; which may include one or more of the following :
Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.

The Role
The Department offers first, second, and third-year courses to students completing a degree at the College or planning to transfer to research universities. The faculty member must be able to teach days and evenings at the New Westminster and Coquitlam campuses.

Applicants must ensure that the application package is submitted online. The application package must include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching dossier that includes teaching evaluations and other evidence of teaching effectiveness, sample course outlines, and a list of teachable subject areas. Preferred candidates will have a strong background in Canadian history, with the breadth of skill that allows them to teach Indigenous courses and some topic-oriented North American courses. Candidates should also demonstrate a record of service to academic and institutional communities.
