Accounting Manager (Canadian CPA Preferred) – Public Practice

Location: Langley, BC (Hybrid – up to 2 days/week work from home for the right candidate)

Salary: $100-120K + Company Benefits Program

Are you an experienced Accounting Manager looking to join a growing, collaborative public practice firm where you’ll have the opportunity to lead people, mentor professionals, and play an active role in the day-to-day operations of the business?

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our leadership team in Langley. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys balancing client service, team leadership, and operational oversight within a dynamic public practice environment.

While we welcome applications from experienced accounting professionals, candidates with a CPA designation and a strong background in public practice will be particularly well aligned with the responsibilities of this role.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals through coaching, performance management, and technical guidance.
• Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the accounting team, ensuring client deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review financial statements, working papers, and tax engagements prepared by staff.
• Manage a portfolio of private-company clients across a variety of industries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting and business matters.
• Assist Partners with practice management, workflow planning, resource allocation, and operational initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, efficiencies, and client service delivery.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic growth initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

• CPA designation (or nearing completion) is considered a strong asset.
• 5+ years of progressive experience within a Canadian public accounting firm.
• Previous experience supervising or managing accounting professionals within public practice.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong client relationship management skills with excellent communication abilities.
• Thorough understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax principles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
