Reporting to the Implementation Manager and working closely with the Senior Negotiator forNänKäk(Land and Environment) the incumbent provides evidence-based research analysis and strategic policy advice in support of TH Final Agreement implementation related to lands resources fish wildlife and environmental stewardship. The incumbent reviews and analyzes territorial and federal legislation policiesregulationsand initiatives to ensure alignment with TH rightsinterestsand Final Agreement obligations. The incumbent supports the Senior Negotiator (serving asback-up when) and coordinates andfacilitatesland- and environment-related meetingscommitteesand working groups. The incumbentrepresentsand advances TH rightsinterestsand positions in discussions with other governments regulatory bodies industryrepresentativesand other stakeholders.

The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time termor auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

EssentialQualifications:

• An advanced post-secondary degree (Mastersor PhD) in law natural sciences business environmental studiesgeographyor related field along with three years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination of education knowledgeexperienceand skills may be considered.
• Experience working on land and resources and/or fish and wildlife projects.
• Experience leading policylegislationand/or research projects.
• Experienceparticipatingin intergovernmental or cross-agency engagements and working groups.
• Experience in stakeholder management disputeresolutionand negotiations.
• Excellent researchanalysisand project management skills.
• Knowledge of Yukon First Nation governance structures and processes.
• Knowledge of the Umbrella Final Agreement TH FinalAgreementand TH Self-Government Agreement.

Assets:

• Knowledge of TH valuestraditionsand culture.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and within a team environment.
• Strong planningorganizationaland project management skills.
• Strong writtenvisualand oral communication skillswith an ability to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
