About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Program Manager the Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team Leader provides leadership innovation and support to their clinical program area with the goal of providing collaborative evidence-based person-centered care to clients and families. The Team Leader works closely with the Continuing Care Team & Program Managers external home support and nursing service providers Rehabilitation and Supportive Care service partners community agencies and organizations and other provincial team members and partners to promote person-centered care within the Continuing Care Portfolio. The Team Leader takes an active lead role in the promotion and coordination of clinical education opportunities for health professional students.This position is 60% Team Lead / 40% Clinical (OT or PT depending on discipline)

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • Five years recent related experience including 2 years of community-based experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Licensed and member in good standing with the relevant professional licensing body; Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator or Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR certification are required
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention training required
  • Experience with facilitating teams
  • Ability to work within a changing environment and must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness totake on new assignments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clinical reasoning
  • Excellent communication skills; written & verbal
  • Effective decision-making critical thinking and problem solving skills in a pressure situation
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement innovation and to promoting a culture that supports safety ethical practices and organizational health.
  • Experience across the continuum of care and knowledge of the Continuing Care program
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary team and in a self directed environment exercising strong leadership organization time management judgment and decision-making skills
  • Valid drivers license with access to a reliable vehicle
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately a 13-month assignment

Compensation and Benefits

$43.07 - $55.10 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health dental travel long-term disability and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
