Manufacturing Engineering Engineer – Production Automation
This engineer is responsible for the design, fabrication, validation, and maintenance of production automation tools and equipment used in production and quality assurance processes. The role supports new product design to improve manufacturability and testing of new devices, and works closely with the new product development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair current test fixtures and apparatus
- Identify and improve current processes, develop solutions for manufacturing improvements
- Participate in weekly project update meetings for planning
- Create test procedures, checklists, and technical documentation for manufacturing fixtures
- Support value‑added/Value Engineering methodologies
- Assist new product development engineering in integrating new products into production (buy/sell and internal)
- Support manufacturing feasibility, process development, COGS modeling, pre‑production/prototype/acceptance runs, SOPs
- Assume responsibility for additional projects as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager or Company management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives tied to Watts Value
Required Qualifications
- Technologist diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical/electronic or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication, testing and validation
- Proficient in 3‑D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to present technical information clearly
- Ability to work effectively in a research environment, use critical thinking, and collaborate with others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid understanding of PCB electronics design and manufacturing processes, experience with Altium Designer
- Experience with software development fundamentals and programming languages such as C/C++, Python, LabView or Java

Working Conditions
The position is onsite at a manufacturing facility, requiring time in an office & lab environment and on the manufacturing floor. The role is Monday‑Friday with hours communicated by the manager.
Physical Requirements
- Seated work at a desk or workstation for extended periods
- Repeated typing, mouse use, and data entry
- Occasional lifting and carrying of light objects (up to 25lb, typically office supplies or small equipment)
- Use of standard office equipment (computers, printers, phones, copiers)
Pay Range
80000 – 90000 per year (actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law).
