Job description
Join Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation as the Natural Resources Director, overseeing essential programs in lands management. Drive operations that align with community priorities and legal frameworks. This position is key to ensuring program compliance and effective land stewardship. As the Director, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government entities, to promote sustainable development efforts. Your leadership and communication skills will be vital for engaging the community and addressing natural resources needs. Key Responsibilities: • Ensure compliance with legislation in lands management • Lead strategic planning with VGFN Council and committees • Supervise staff and enhance capacity through mentorship • Prepare proposals and ensure budget adherence • Conduct community consultations to gather feedback Requirements: • Relevant degree in natural resources or similar • 10+ years in resource conservation or management • 5+ years supervising teams and managing finances • Experience building community-focused partnerships • Knowledge of Indigenous governance frameworks is preferable Harness your experience in resource management to contribute to VGFN's community and environmental goals. #J-18808-Ljbffr
