The position will play a critical role in building processes, systems and standards that protect the company's commercial interests while supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Develop the Contract Management Function
  • Act as the primary Contracts Manager, overseeing the day‑to‑day management and administration of contracts across the business.
  • Develop and implement company‑wide contract management policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Build scalable systems and processes that will support the continued growth of the organization.
  • Continuously improve contract administration practices to reduce commercial risk and improve efficiency.

  • Work collaboratively with legal counsel on complex contractual matters and disputes.
Commercial Risk Management
  • Monitor contractual obligations and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Track critical dates, milestones, notice requirements and deliverables.
  • Coordinate notices relating to delays, changes, claims, defaults and extensions of time.
  • Assist project teams in identifying contractual risks before they become disputes.
Project Support & Contract Administration
  • Support Project Managers throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, amendments, correspondence and change documentation.
  • Ensure contracts remain current and properly executed.
  • Assist with contract close‑out and final documentation.
Claims & Change Management
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of contractual notices.
  • Assist with change order administration and contract amendments.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for claims, disputes and negotiations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records to support commercial positions.
Collaboration & Business Support
  • Partner with Operations, Estimating, Finance and Procurement throughout project delivery.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and processes.
  • Deliver contract management training and education to internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and legal advisors.
Process Improvement & Organizational Growth
  • Implement industry best practices for contract management.
  • Recommend improvements to contract templates and commercial processes.
  • Support organizational growth through stronger governance and commercial controls.
  • Develop reporting metrics to measure contract performance and risk.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7‑10 years of contract management, commercial management or contract administration experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within construction, infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Education or training in Contract Law, Construction Law, Paralegal Studies or Legal Administration is considered an asset.
  • Professional designation such as CPCM, CCCM, SCMP or PMP is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of CCDC, CCA, MMCD and subcontract agreements.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contract risk throughout project delivery.
  • Experience supporting claims management, change orders and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance requirements, indemnities, warranties, payment provisions and risk allocation.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to prepare formal contractual correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance commercial risk with practical business outcomes.

Benefits (Available from Day One)

We offer a competitive benefits package including dental care, extended health and vision care, disability and life insurance, RRSP matching, paid time off, on‑site paid parking and bonus.

Compensation

Salary: $130,000‑$160,000
