Provide leadership and oversight for a diverse portfolio of projects, including electrical and mechanical equipment repair and replacement, regulatory inspection and maintenance programs, earthworks, civil infrastructure repairs, and other regionally prioritized initiatives.

Collaborate closely with Business Development, Infrastructure Planning, Development Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to ensure the successful transition, integration, and operational readiness of completed projects within the Athabasca Region.

Specific Accountabilities:

Project Execution

Lead the planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects within the Athabasca Region, including development of project budgets, schedules, resource strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, management of change activities, and regulatory and permitting requirements.

Provide leadership and oversight throughout the project lifecycle by coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors and resources, procuring materials and services, and ensuring projects are executed safely while meeting scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

Direct project closeout activities, ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, lessons learned integration, financial reconciliation, and seamless turnover to operations and key stakeholders.

Ensure constructed, repaired, and commissioned assets meet operational, safety, reliability, and business requirements while adhering to Enbridge standards and industry best practices.

Project Integration

Serve as the primary Operations representative throughout the capital project lifecycle, providing strategic guidance on project scope, engineering design, equipment selection, constructability, operability, commissioning, and operational readiness requirements.

Partner with engineering, project development, maintenance, and operations teams to support governance and stage-gate processes, including Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), risk assessments, design reviews, constructability reviews, and management of change activities.

Champion operational readiness by ensuring Operations Acceptance Criteria, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), training requirements, and commissioning activities are completed with all deficiencies addressed prior to asset turnover.
Foster alignment between project sponsors, stakeholders, and regional operations teams to support the safe, reliable, and efficient integration of capital investments into ongoing operations.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project execution, operational performance, stakeholder collaboration, and long-term asset reliability.

Scope/Dimensions:

Provide regional guidance and operational support to engineering, construction, and project teams throughout project planning, execution, commissioning, and closeout activities.

Support the development and implementation of contractor specifications, qualification requirements, and safety expectations to ensure work is executed in accordance with Enbridge standards and industry best practices.

Monitor and promote compliance with Enbridge policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental, health, and safety standards throughout all phases of project execution.

Participate in the development of regional operating and capital budgets by providing project cost estimates, forecasting support, resource requirements, and operational input.

Identify and communicate project risks, operational impacts, and mitigation strategies to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure work is planned, executed, and completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives.
