Job Summary

Acquisitions are an important part of Aurora's growth strategy, and successful integration is critical to realizing the intended strategic, operational, financial, and organizational value of those transactions. Aurora is seeking an Integration Lead to support critical integrations by bringing structure, business judgment, and cross-functional coordination to complex transition work.

The Integration Lead is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of business integration activities following acquisitions. This role partners with leaders across the organization to assess current operations, develop integration strategies, manage cross-functional workstreams, and ensure successful business transitions that achieve strategic objectives while minimizing operational disruption.

Working in a complex, matrixed environment, the Integration Lead builds trusted relationships with leaders and subject matter experts across Aurora and acquired businesses to align stakeholders, facilitate informed decision making, and drive integration activities from planning through execution. The role oversees governance, executive reporting, issue escalation, risk management, and workstream coordination across multiple business functions to support business continuity and the successful realization of integration objectives.

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, relationship management, and the ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and translate complex business insights into practical integration plans, recommendations, and measurable outcomes

Interesting? Here is a little more…

As the Integration Lead you will…

Integration Leadership & Business Discovery

  • Lead the planning and execution of integration activities, ensuring the work is grounded in a clear understanding of how the acquired business currently operates.
  • Conduct structured discovery across both organizations to understand and map the acquired business’s current organization structure, operating model, reporting relationships, decision rights, governance practices, reporting rhythms, financial drivers, resource allocation, role accountabilities, and key dependencies.
  • Develop clear current-state organization and operating model maps that identify functional structures, leadership accountabilities, role overlaps, decision pathways, hand-offs, gaps, and potential integration implications.
  • Identify and unpack differences between current-state and future-state ways of working, including where integration may create operational, financial, cultural, or organizational risk.
  • Translate business discovery into clear integration plans, workstream priorities, decision points, risks, recommendations, and executive-ready updates.
  • Support leaders in determining what should be preserved, integrated, adapted, or changed to enable a successful transition.

Cross-Functional Integration Management

  • Develop and maintain integration roadmaps, workstream plans, milestone tracking, dependency maps, transition plans, and issue logs.
  • Coordinate integration activities across Operations, Finance, Commercial, IT, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal, Quality, and other functional teams.
  • Lead Day 1 readiness planning, operational transition activities, stabilization efforts, and post-integration reviews.
  • Manage dependencies across functions and identify where decisions, resources, data, or executive alignment are required to keep the integration moving.
  • Support business continuity by coordinating competing priorities and minimizing disruption throughout the integration process.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Leadership

  • Build trusted, credible relationships with leaders and subject matter experts from both organizations.
  • Act as a connector between teams, ensuring both sides understand the integration objectives, key decisions, risks, timelines, and implications.
  • Lead through influence rather than direct authority, fostering collaboration, transparency, accountability, and timely issue resolution.
  • Facilitate working sessions, leadership discussions, and governance meetings to align stakeholders and move decisions forward.
  • Provide clear, timely communication regarding integration progress, risks, decisions, milestones, and areas requiring escalation.

Governance, Reporting & Financial Insight

  • Prepare executive dashboards, steering committee materials, integration updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Track integration progress against scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, business readiness, and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Finance and functional leaders to understand the acquired business’s financial model, cost structure, budget ownership, reporting practices, business drivers, and integration-related financial implications.
  • Identify areas where financial, structural, or operational differences may affect integration decisions, synergy realization, or business continuity.
  • Manage governance processes, including approvals, change control, decision tracking, and risk escalation.

Integration Playbook & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain integration tools, templates, playbooks, discovery questions, workstream trackers, and governance materials.
  • Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements to future integration planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making.
  • Promote practical, business-oriented integration practices that enhance organizational effectiveness and project execution.

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience leading business integration, M&A integration, transformation, operational readiness, or complex cross-functional initiatives within a corporate environment.
  • Experience working with acquired businesses, joint ventures, carve-outs, integrations, or complex business transitions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience partnering with Finance and business leaders to understand business models, cost structures, budgets, KPIs, reporting practices, and operating rhythms.
  • Experience developing executive reporting, governance frameworks, steering committee materials, integration roadmaps, workstream plans, and decision logs.
  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple functional stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Project management certification, such as PMP, is considered an asset but is not required.

Bonus points if you have…

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand how a business operates financially, structurally, operationally, and organizationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead business integration, M&A integration, transformation, or complex cross-functional change initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct structured discovery, ask effective questions, synthesize complex information, and identify implications for integration planning and decision-making.
  • Ability to map current-state organization structures and operating models, including reporting lines, role accountabilities, decision pathways, hand-offs, overlaps, gaps, and dependencies.
  • Strong financial literacy, including the ability to interpret budgets, cost structures, reporting practices, business performance metrics, operational KPIs, and integration-related financial impacts.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, with the credibility to work effectively with leaders and subject matter experts from both the acquiring and acquired organizations.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and decisions required to move work forward.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive accountability, and lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, executive reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Strong planning, governance, documentation, and project execution skills, with the discipline to maintain structure without becoming overly process-driven.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and project management or workstream tracking platforms such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
