Job description

Tasks

  • Escort oversized-load convoys to ensure the safety of the driver, the cargo, and other road users.
  • Verify routes, overhead clearances, and equipment compliance before each departure.
  • Ensure compliance with permit conditions and help maintain smooth traffic flow during transport operations.
  • Operate trailer steering axles during maneuvers when required.
  • Assist drivers with loading, unloading, coupling, uncoupling, and load securement operations.
  • Participate in yard operations, including trailer preparation and the installation of accessories, flooring, and tarps.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and report any equipment issues or irregularities.
  • Support material handling and snow removal activities, and operate trailers using remote controls in port terminals when required.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence with an excellent driving record and solid driving experience.
  • Excellent driving abstract.
  • Availability for short-, medium-, and long-term travel assignments ranging from one day to several weeks.
  • Valid passport and eligibility to travel to the United States.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
