  • Ensure design compliance with relevant Irish and EU standards, planning conditions, grid codes, and health & safety regulations.
  • Liaise with the DNO/ESB Networks regarding grid connection designs, protection settings, and commissioning requirements.
  • Perform on-site inspections and provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Assist with energy yield assessments, cable sizing, equipment selection, and system optimisation.

Core Competencies

Operational Efficiency: Operational efficiency is the ability to streamline operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality and performance standards. It requires a continuous focus on improving workflows, ensuring that all elements of the operation function cohesively and efficiently. By identifying and addressing inefficiencies, organizations can achieve higher productivity, significant cost savings, and better-quality outputs. Operational efficiency not only drives profitability but also provides a competitive advantage, as businesses can deliver products and services more quickly and at a lower cost. Additionally, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation ensures that operational practices evolve to meet changing market demands and sustain long-term success.

Teamwork and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization and with external partners. This also includes negotiating skills and conflict resolution abilities to manage and mediate in diverse situations.

Problem Solving

Utilizes a systematic approach to identify, analyze, and resolve issues. Employs critical thinking and creative solutions to address complex problems. Engages in root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and collaborates with stakeholders to implement effective solutions. Remains calm under pressure and adapts strategies as new information emerges.

Safety Awareness

Maintains a vigilant focus on health and safety regulations and practices within the workplace. Promotes a culture of safety by educating employees about potential hazards and the importance of adhering to safety protocols. Conducts regular safety audits and drills, identifies areas for improvement, and implements measures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all.

Risk Management is a critical core competency involving the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks followed by coordinated efforts to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and impact of unfortunate events. Effective risk management ensures that potential threats are systematically identified and analyzed, with strategies developed to mitigate their effects. This competency requires a proactive approach, incorporating risk assessment into all planning and operational activities. By anticipating challenges and implementing preventative measures, organizations can protect their assets, ensure business continuity, and maintain stakeholder confidence.

Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is the ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks with a high degree of precision. This competency involves carefully checking work, identifying errors, and ensuring all aspects of a task are addressed. It requires a focus on the finer points and the ability to consistently produce work that meets or exceeds established standards. Individuals with strong attention to detail can identify discrepancies, maintain accuracy in data and documentation, and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the organization.

Technical Competence related to role

Technical Competence related to a specific role involves possessing the necessary technical skills and knowledge to perform job‑specific tasks effectively. This competency includes understanding industry-specific tools, technologies, and methodologies. For example, an engineer must be proficient in technical drawing and design software, while a financial analyst needs expertise in financial modeling and data analysis. Continuous learning and professional development are critical to maintaining technical competence and staying relevant in one’s field.
