The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Crusher Operator to join our valued client's team in the Fort St.

John area of northeast British Columbia.

This is a full-time position running a portable crushing and screening spread producing aggregate for road, pad, and civil construction across the Peace Region.

You will run the plant day to day, hold gradation and production targets, and keep wear parts and service intervals ahead of downtime.

This is steady, year round work for an operator who knows how to keep a spread balanced and running clean.

What You'll Do Operate and monitor portable crushing and screening equipment, including jaw, cone, impactor, and screen decks, to meet daily production and specification targets.

  • Adjust closed side settings, feed rates, and screen media to hold gradation and keep the plant balanced.
  • Complete daily pre-start inspections, grease and service the plant, and log all defects and downtime.
  • Change wear parts including jaw dies, mantles, bowl liners, blow bars, screen cloth, and conveyor belts.
  • Monitor stockpile build, coordinate with loader and haul truck operators, and keep feed to the plant consistent.
  • Apply lockout and tagout before any guard removal, blockage clearing, or maintenance work.
  • Complete gradation sampling, production tickets, timesheets, and daily plant reports.
  • Support setup, teardown, and relocation of the plant between pits, including leveling, cable runs, and conveyor placement.

What You Bring 2 or more years operating a portable crushing and screening spread.

  • Working knowledge of jaw, cone, and screen operation, including closed side setting adjustment.
  • Ability to assess wear part condition and complete changeouts safely with the crew.
  • Valid Class 5 driver licence and a clean driver abstract.
  • Current Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSTS 2020 or equivalent site orientation.
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting ability in a field setting.
  • Ability to work rotational shifts at remote sites in northeast BC in all weather.
  • Commitment to lockout and tagout, machine guarding, and stop work authority on every task.

Preferred Qualifications Experience on Metso, Sandvik, Terex Finlay, Kleemann, Lippmann, or McCloskey plants.

  • Class 1 or Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement.
  • Loader, excavator, or dozer tickets for pit support work.
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2, Confined Space Entry, or Fall Protection training.
  • Experience producing to Ministry of Transportation or municipal aggregate specifications.

Work Environment Active pit and project site work in northeast British Columbia, including winter temperatures below minus 30 with wind chill.

  • High noise, dust, and vibration around operating plant, with hearing and respiratory protection required.
  • Work at height on plant walkways and platforms, with fall protection where required.
  • Remote sites accessed by resource road, with camp or living out allowance where the project requires it.
  • Full PPE at all times: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility clothing, CSA approved boots, and FR coveralls where required.
