General Laborer – PM Shift
Job Description
We are currently seeking General Laborers for the PM Shift to support operations in a large manufacturing facility located in Northwest Calgary. This is a physically demanding role that involves working both inside the production plant and outdoors in the yard. Responsibilities include material handling, heavy lifting, equipment support, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Bend, carry, and handle rebar as required for production processes.
- Fill and support rebar machines to maintain continuous production operations.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions performing heavy lifting, shrink wrapping, and manually loading/unloading products.
- Move foam and other materials throughout the facility to support production flow.
- Operate machinery and equipment as directed to ensure production lines run smoothly.
- Use power tools to assemble and disassemble concrete forms according to specifications and safety standards.
- Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties in both the plant and yard.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with production operators, tradespeople, forklift operators, and team members to meet production goals.
- Work scheduled afternoon shift hours and complete mandatory overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in manufacturing, construction, or a related environment.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
- Willingness to complete cleaning and housekeeping tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Availability to work overtime, including up to 6 days per week when required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely in a loud industrial environment.
- Experience with general labor duties including material handling, loading/unloading, and production support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction.
- Machine operating experience in a production environment.
- Experience using power tools for assembly, disassembly, or construction-related tasks.
- Flexibility to work day or afternoon shifts if required.
- Familiarity with concrete rebar, pipe products, and related construction materials.
- Exposure to crane operations, welding, or other industrial trades is considered an asset.

Work Environment
This position is based in a large manufacturing facility in Northwest Calgary. Employees work in both indoor production areas and an outdoor yard environment. The facility is industrial and fast-paced, with active production lines, heavy materials, machinery, power tools, and material handling equipment.
Shift Schedule:
- PM Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Mandatory overtime as required
The production team consists of approximately 60 employees, including general laborers, production operators, tradespeople, and forklift operators. The organization promotes long-term employment, teamwork, and ongoing skills development in a unionized environment.
