Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Bridge Design EIT for immediate employment in the Regina, SK office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with opportunities to work on exciting and challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with structural analysis and the preparation of design calculations.
- Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.
- Prepare geometric and bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
- Assist with shop drawing reviews.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation.
- Perform fieldwork, including hands-on bridge inspections.
- Assist with monitoring conformance with quality, performance, specification, and code requirements through inspection activities.
- Perform field inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Support project management activities and project data input.
- Assist with the design of utility protection and relocation.
- Support proposal development activities.
- Assist with external stakeholder communication and correspondence.
- Prepare cost estimates and quantity calculations.
- Assist in evaluating technical alternatives and resolving technical issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and technical staff in a team environment.
- Assist in preparing technical memoranda outlining design options, impacts, and recommendations.
- Apply strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT registered in Saskatchewan or eligible for registration with APEGS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CSA S6 design codes and standards.
- Familiarity with municipal and road authority standards.
- Academic, internship, co-op, or professional experience related to bridge or structural engineering.
- Familiarity with finite element software, bridge design software, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, and computer-aided drafting software.
- Ability to travel.
- Surveying experience.
- Construction field experience.
- Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with asset management.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required for travel to project sites, client locations, and other AECOM offices.
