Are we right for you...

Do you enjoy bringing people together to achieve a common goal, managing multiple projects, and turning ideas into successful marketing campaigns?

You've worked in a marketing department, advertising agency, communications team, or similar environment where balancing competing priorities, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering projects on time was essential.

If you're a strong project coordinator who thrives in collaborative environments, enjoys building relationships, and can confidently juggle several campaigns and initiatives at the same time, this may be a fit for you.

In this role you will be asked to...

Support the development, coordination, and implementation of public information and marketing activities that help BC Transit and its local government partners achieve their customer information and marketing goals. Reporting to the Supervisor, Marketing, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand how services, projects, and initiatives impact customers and determine how marketing can be used to support awareness, education, and adoption.

You will coordinate concurrent customer information and marketing projects, helping ensure deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This includes coordinating annual marketing campaigns, managing timelines, collaborating with partners and vendors, and supporting campaign planning, implementation, and evaluation.

You'll contribute to the creation and delivery of customer-facing materials across a variety of channels, including print, radio, digital, social media, web, and out-of-home advertising. You'll write and edit content, coordinate production schedules, and ensure materials align with BC Transit brand standards and customer information requirements.

You'll also work collaboratively with internal teams, local government partners, operating companies, media representatives, community organizations, and contractors to support project delivery and achieve marketing objectives.

Success in this role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities, coordinate diverse stakeholder groups, and keep projects moving forward while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

In this role you will not be asked to...

Work in isolation. This is a highly collaborative, project-focused role. Success depends on partnering with colleagues and project teams to understand business needs, develop marketing solutions, and coordinate campaigns from planning through execution.

What you might love about this role...

  • Variety and pace: You'll support a diverse range of campaigns, customer information initiatives, service changes, public engagement activities, and marketing projects.
  • Project-based work: You'll coordinate multiple concurrent marketing initiatives, helping bring ideas to life while ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Strong team environment: You'll work closely with marketing colleagues, digital specialists, contractors, operating companies, local government partners, and community organizations to achieve shared goals.
  • Meaningful community impact: Your work helps customers understand transit services, programs, and service changes that impact communities throughout British Columbia.
  • Creative and strategic balance: You'll contribute to marketing plans, content development, campaign execution, stakeholder engagement, and performance evaluation.
  • Continuous learning: You'll gain exposure to new audiences across the province, large corporate initiatives, and emerging marketing channels.

What might not resonate...

  • Multiple priorities are the norm. This role frequently requires managing several projects, campaigns, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Coordination is a major component of the role. You'll spend significant time organizing projects, following up with stakeholders, monitoring timelines, and ensuring deliverables are completed.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential. Marketing materials, advertising placements, public information, and customer communications must be accurate and aligned with brand standards and fixed budgets.

This role might not be for you if...

  • You prefer working on one project rather than taking part in many concurrent initiatives.
  • You don't enjoy coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines, and keeping projects organized.
  • You prefer independent work over collaborative team-based environments.
  • You struggle with staying organized, multiple deliverables, or meeting deadlines.
  • You don't see the value of great customer information, internal communication, or project management.

What you'll bring to the table...

Some qualities you possess to be successful in this role:

  • Project management – Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Marketing expertise – Strong understanding of marketing principles, campaign planning, and customer communications.
  • Content development – Experience creating and editing clear, engaging marketing materials.
  • Stakeholder engagement – Proven ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Organization and prioritization – Strong ability to balance competing demands and keep projects on track.
  • Analytical skills – Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
  • Communication skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.

The successful candidate will typically bring a post-secondary degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in a marketing department, advertising agency, or similar environment. Experience coordinating projects, supporting multi-channel marketing campaigns, developing marketing materials, and working with internal stakeholders and external vendors will be highly valued.

To learn more about this role, we encourage you to review the Marketing Advisor job description where you'll see all the accountabilities of the position.

What we'll bring to the table...

  • Comprehensive medical and dental benefits to support you and your family, regardless of what life throws at you
  • Membership in BC’s Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP). Nationally recognized for its strong investment and governance practices, PSPP is a “defined benefit” plan
  • Access to fitness and lifestyle centers to help you take care of your physical fitness and healthVarious programs that support employees such as an Employee Assistance Program and health and wellness initiatives and events aimed at fostering your mental health
  • A complimentary employee bus pass (plus taxable dependent passes)
  • A corporate learning and development program to help you in continuous career growth
  • An employee recognition program where we all recognize each other's successes (not just your Leaders!)
  • A social club that gives you access to events throughout Victoria

What next steps could look like...

  • Interviews will take place August 19th and 20th, 2026.
  • There may be an assignment/presentation as part of the interview process.
  • The position requires the completion of a Criminal Record Check or Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • An eligibility list may be established for future full time regular and full time temporary vacancies
  • If you have a disability that requires an accommodation during any stage of our recruitment process, please contact careers@bctransit.com to let us know how we can assist you.
  • BC Transit is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities. If the organization identifies this position as a reasonable accommodation for an existing employee, all candidates will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

At BC Transit, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace; if you’re excited about this role and you have a combination of education and experience that you feel would fulfill its requirements, we encourage you to apply.
