Job description

As the founding entity of RAINBOW PARTNERS, Quanteam is a consulting firm specializing in Banking, Finance, and Financial Services. Guided by our core values of closeness, teamwork, diversity, and excellence, our team of 1,000 expert consultants, representing 35 different nationalities, collaborates across 10 international offices: Paris, Lyon, New York, Montreal, London, Brussels, Geneva, Lisbon, Porto and Casablanca.

We are looking for a Java Developer for one of our clients, an investment bank set in Montreal

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with risk analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets for analytics and machine learning.
  • Develop, test, document, deploy, and provide L3 production support for applications.
  • Deliver working code that meets acceptance criteria and Definition of Done standards while ensuring product quality through testing, deployment, and production activities.
  • Document technical designs and specifications, maintain test cases, and support issue resolution, root cause analysis, and major production events.
  • Manage release processes, including release notes preparation, release scripts development, deployment execution, and rollback planning.
  • Implement and enforce data security, governance, and compliance standards in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Automate repetitive data processing tasks and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, cloud technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide production support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ability to code, test, document, deploy, and provide L3 application support.
  • Strong cloud computing knowledge, including security, infrastructure, architecture design, and design patterns.
  • Experience with Spring Boot for developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Strong proficiency with Oracle Database, including:
    • Stored procedures
    • Performance tuning
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines.
  • Strong Python skills for data manipulation, automation, and scripting.
  • Proficiency with GitHub for source code management and collaborative development.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Technical Stack:

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with Credit Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk concepts.
  • Understanding of Capital Markets products, including:
