Job Description

The Opportunity

SymphonyAI is a leading provider of financial services software, delivering advanced solutions in compliance and fraud detection to some of the world's most complex financial institutions. We're looking for a dynamic and innovative Business Consultant to join our Professional Services team — someone who thrives at the intersection of client relationships, product expertise, and technical delivery.

In this role, you'll be the critical link between our clients, our product teams, and our technical consultants. You'll bring your industry experience to bear on gathering requirements, shaping solutions, and helping deliver systems that make a real difference in the fight against financial crime.

What You Will Do

  • Build viable business cases and capture detailed client requirements, primarily for system integration projects

  • Demonstrate software and present risk and compliance models directly to clients

  • Prepare for and deliver workshops with clients' fraud, risk, compliance, investigation, and data teams

  • Develop fraud models and watch list verification methods

  • Deploy enterprise solutions within client environments

  • Run client workshops to define and scope project goals, workflows, business requirements, gaps, and opportunities

  • Manage requirements traceability and prepare functional specifications

  • Partner with Product Development and Technical Consultants to analyze and design functional enhancements

  • Translate business specifications into clear language for both technical and business audiences

  • Coordinate business analysis efforts across client technology initiatives

  • Collaborate with Account Management and Pre-Sales teams to identify new opportunities within managed accounts

  • Contribute to client presentations that showcase SymphonyAI's product functionality and delivery methodology

  • Support client testing activities, particularly during UAT

  • Maintain and grow deep product expertise

  • Adhere to and help enhance our software development approaches and methodologies

What You Have

  • Experience delivering complex, product-based IT solutions in Financial Services, particularly within Fraud, Compliance, or Risk Management.

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • First-hand experience with software product implementation, user interaction, and deployment.

  • Strong writing skills across business requirement documents, use cases, issue logs, project status reports, scope change documents, mapping specifications, and test plans/cases.

  • A track record of exceeding expectations for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Solid process analysis and mapping skills.

  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle.

  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, in writing, in conversation, and in presentations.

  • Strong listening, analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with close attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel as business needs require.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience in model tuning or false-positive reduction — a strong differentiator for this role

  • A natural drive to dig past symptoms to root causes, developing sound, lasting solutions rather than quick fixes

  • Strong organizational and time-management instincts that keep complex projects on track

  • A solution-oriented, client-first mindset — someone who goes the extra mile to get the right outcome

  • ACAMS Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist credential (a plus, not required)
