DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Radiation Therapy Manager, the Radiation Therapy Unit Clerk works in a complex, dynamic, multidisciplinary department and will be responsible for a variety of clerical tasks including reception, scheduling, and data entry. Duties include scheduling and coordinating tests, appointments, and treatments; managing telephone calls and patient communications; faxing; and other assigned tasks. Working in a paperless environment, solid communication, computer, and time‑management skills are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested)
• Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (basic level, tested)
• Keyboarding skills of at least 30 words per minute (tested)
• Experience with Meditech Community Wide Scheduling modules and computerized patient registration (asset)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work productively amid interruptions in a stressful environment
• Commitment to maintaining strict patient confidentiality
• Exceptional verbal, listening, and written communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff, patients, and families
• Capacity to adapt positively to a changing environment

• Favorable performance record
