APPLICATIONS PROGRAMMER - ANALYST 1 (Temporary, Full-time)

NATURE OF POSITION: Hiring one (1) Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 position. Under the supervision of the Manager of Information Technology or designate, the Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 provides support to internal clients, assists them with their IT usage, resolves business application related concerns, maintains security and integrity of business applications, and plays a key role in implementing and maintaining systems for the Regional District.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluating and preparing recommendations regarding the acquisition and implementation of applications.
• Assessing and advising on system capabilities.
• Defining and developing applications to meet user needs.
• Ensuring that standards and procedures are adopted and followed.
• Providing technical support to users, including developing and conducting training, demonstrating software capabilities, and resolving user problems.
• Maintaining security and integrity of business applications.
• Managing substantial contact with users and contractors, exercising independent judgment in technical aspects of the work to prevent disruptive impacts on the organization.

RATE OF PAY

$42.31 per hour (January 1, 2026 rate)

START & END DATE

Start: August 15, 2026
End: August 15, 2027
