Senior SOX Consultant

About Our Client
Our client is seeking a Senior SOX Consultant for a 6- to 9-month opportunity.

About the Opportunity

• Work closely with process owners to implement and track corrective action plans arising from control deficiencies identified through management reviews, Internal Audit, or external audit testing.
• Contribute to the development, optimization, and deployment of internal controls across financial reporting, operational, and information technology environments.
• Evaluate and maintain control documentation, including Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs), process narratives, and workflow diagrams, ensuring they accurately reflect current processes and control expectations.
• Advise control owners on control performance requirements, evidence retention practices, IPE standards, exception handling, and documentation quality.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, including walkthroughs, control discussions, testing support, and evidence coordination.
• Support quarterly SOX control owner certification processes and follow-up activities.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives impacting the SOX environment, including ERP transformations, process redesign projects, system implementations, and organizational changes.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, streamline, and enhance SOX program governance and monitoring activities

About You

• CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent professional designation preferred
• 10+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX, internal audit, or risk management experience
• Experience in a large multinational organization and large ERP systems
• Industry experience in manufacturing, CPG, automotive, cannabis, or in an organization with large amounts of COGS and inventory
• Experience with PCAOB auditing standards
• Role up the sleeves attitude
• Strategic mindset to understand the big picture on internal audit strategy
